What will this face mask do for your skin? Nothing short of renew and rejuvenate it in 30 minutes flat. Hanacure premiered in January 2017 and instantly sold out and stayed on backorder for most of 2017. The all-in-one treatment claims to address multiple signs of aging from hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, elasticity to firmness. One scroll through their Instagram page and it is clear that the #HanacureEffect is no joke. The craze all started when Drew Barrymore posted an instagram picture with the mask on claiming to look 10 years younger after she washed it off. So, here’s everything you need to know about this revolutionary mask.
What is It?
Hanacure is an at home facial from South Korea that is an all-in-one gel mask. After developing it for three years, the company’s founders released the mask with the promise that once a week use for four weeks would give you visible age-reversing results.
How does it work?
There is a patented two step system which includes a lifting serum and a gelling solution. When they are mixed together-think science project here-they create a purifying compound designed to soothe irritation and brighten, smooth and moisturize skin. With application the carbon dioxide in the air combines with the solution to create the “OctoLift”. This reaction causes the solution to solidify onto the face and creates an intense tightening effect (so much so, my iPhone X facial recognition failed!!). While the “OctoLift” is in effect it is recommended that you use your facial muscles as little as possible. Once it’s in full effect, it’s very difficult to speak anyway. As I’m typing this, I realize it sounds alarming and the effect certainly looks alarming! But you know what they say “No guts, no glory”. It’s all worth it in the end and it’s like childbirth, you only remember the end result and in this case it’s luminescent skin.
Is it worth it?
At $110 for 4 sets of the two step solution, it’s somewhat of an investment, but the short answer is yes! After I wash off the mask my skin looks noticeably brighter and the skin tone more even. It even tightens the cheekbones and jawline. It’s perfect to use before any event where you want to look you’re very best. I do think the results have a cumulative effect, but sadly the initial glow and tightening effect do wear off.
