Clear, glowing skin. We all want it and when I find something that works it stays in my beauty rotation (see the face masks I’ve used over and over again). Here are the 5 beauty products that I’ve been using lately and will definitely be repurchasing.
John Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator
I use this face mist in place of a toner at night after I’ve washed my face. It feels so good to mist it all over my face and decolette and while my skin is still damp, I gently press it into my skin and follow with Estee Lauder’s Night Repair (the one product I’ve used since I was 18). On overseas airplane flights, this mist is a game changer. After wiping off all my makeup, I mist my face and apply the next product and hope and pray for sleep to overtake me-which never seems to happen.
Mahalo Multi-Correctional Facial Serum
This serum feels like an oil but is lightweight and amazingly hydrating. I use this at night as the last step in my skin care routine after misting, night repair and Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask. I put one pump into the palm of my hands and rub it together and then gently press it into my skin until its all absorbed. It leaves behind a subtle luminous glow and plump hydrated skin. My skin tends to be oily so it’s too much for me to use during the day but if your skin tends toward the drier type this would be perfect.
Tan Luxe The Face Illuminating Face Drops
These drops are just what you need to extend your sun-kissed glow. They are enriched with raspberry seed oil, vitamin E and aloe vera so they gently hydrate while they work their glowy magic. You can use them alone or mix them with your moisturizer or facial oil. I use them at night after my serum and before my moisturizer and in the morning I look like I’ve been in St. Tropez for the last week-so nice when its dreary and cold outside and my skin needs a subtle radiant brightness.
Nars Radiance Primer
This is the first primer I’ve ever used because it contains no silicone or oil and has an SPF 35. The sun protection is what sold me because all the sunscreens I’ve tried under my makeup have created an oily mess after a few hours. This checked the sunscreen box and has the added benefit of making my makeup last all day. You only need a pea sized amount to cover your face and it instantly warms your complexion and boosts radiance while prolonging and enhancing the look of your makeup.
Tata Harper Illuminating Eye Cream
I love this eye cream on the mornings when you want to look like you slept 8 hours and actually slept much less. It has an amazing pearlescent effect on your undereye area but be warned it can be overwhelming so use it sparingly or mix it with your concealer for a more subtle effect. For a nighttime look, I’ve used it as a highlighter for my brow bone and on the top of my cheekbones.
As we head into the colder months, these 5 beauty products will be working overtime. I need a little (or a lot) extra help to keep my skin from looking gray and pasty-never good stuff. But I’m poised and at the ready to deploy my arsenal of beauty products to prolong that sun-kissed everglow.
