I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends. The week in-between Christmas and New Year is when it feels like time doesn’t really exist. It’s hard to remember what day it is and the world seems to be holding its breath waiting to exhale on January 1. Well, I’m not going to wait on the side line until January 1st! I’ve already decided on areas in my life that need to be simplified or just need more attention and one of those areas is my skincare routine. For the last several years, microneedling has been trending as a professional treatment for acne scars, uneven pigmentation, wrinkles and general skin tone. So, it was only a matter of time before an at-home-use device became available. Enter BeautyBio’s GloPro microneedling device! The set comes with three heads: for face, eyes and body. It’s the 1 beauty device you need for 2019 to keep your skin healthy, clear and glowing.
What is it?
Microneedling causes controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your body’s natural wound healing process, while minimizing cellular damage. The result is effective remodeling of scar tissue, while keeping the overall structure of the skin intact. Microneedling is designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production and restore volume. When used immediately before your serum, it provides passageways for your skincare products to dive down to the deepest layers of the face.
The GloPRO is made up of 540 surgical stainless-steel microneedles, each of which is 0.3mm long and 0.2mm thick. The device also includes red LED light, which turns on during application to help heal inflammation.
How it works
There are three phases to the wound-repair process:
- Inflammation. Piercing the skin triggers your immune system to disinfect the wounds, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue.
- Proliferation. The wound is rebuilt with new granulation cells, which are part of the extracellular matrix. Additionally, a new network of blood vessels develops.
- Remodeling. The wound is replaced with new dermal tissues and blood vessels.
The GloPro has a special VibroTactile Stimulation function in the tool which cascades energy into the deepest layers of the skin. As its MicroTips pass over your skin, the regeneration process begins immediately, with cells responding to imperceptible microchannels by restoring volume from the inside out.
Tips For Using
After washing your face at night, use the tool on any area of your face that needs help (I use it on my entire face and neck-I need a lot of help!). Turn the device on and begin to gently roll over the area. It’s recommended to roll vertically then horizontally between 5-10 times for about 60 seconds over each area. I know you’re wondering if it hurts, am I right? The answer is yes, a little bit, it’s a microneedler after all. But stick with it! Start with gentle pressure and work your way up to what’s tolerable for your skin. FYI you can draw blood-this may or may not have happened to me. So, roll responsibly! You will love your skin after a few weeks of using this tool 2-3 times a week. Don’t forget to apply your serum within 60 seconds and let the healing (and anti-aging) begin.
Not sure if you want to invest in the Cadillac of microneedling tools? Stacked Skincare offers a $30 tool that is a perfect entry point.
