As soon as the temperatures hit the mid 90 degree mark all I can think about is wearing clothes that don’t hug my body in any way, but I don’t want to look like I have a potato sack on either. Simple elegance and comfort are not mutually exclusive!
One of my favorite easy summer combinations is to pair a wide flowy pants with a lighter-than-air button down blouse. The pants I have on in these pictures are tailored enough to work for an evening out but are also great for sightseeing and exploring those narrow European streets. A win for the packing game! Who else feels like 50lbs is a real struggle if you’re going to Europe for 2 1/2 weeks? An extra 5lbs was all I needed! Still a little bitter about the whole weight thing…but I digress.
Here are some other really good options to start you on your way to simple elegance in the summer heat.
These pants paired with this Portugese cotton blouse would be amazing. Full disclosure, I have the blouse and am seriously considering adding these pants to the summer rotation.
Ice blue pants and a white button down knotted at the waist most definitely need tan leather accessories like these sandals and this clutch.
These peach colored silk pants paired with this lightweight red striped blouse would be perfect for a 4th of July outfit. Just add a blue handbag and you’re all ready for America’s birthday party!

Hi Laura,
I love the elegant boho look!
I’m in Beverly Hills California today and had promised that I would stay away from Rodeo Drive, but was easily swayed after viewing your post…lol
You look absolutely gorgeous!
