If you have been paying any attention to runway trends, then you’ve seen leather showing up everywhere. From classic black to crazy colorful reds and greens, leather is what you want to wear this Fall. Over here at EOS, we like to keep it classic and eternal–which means sticking with black and a little chestnut brown thrown in every now and then. Honestly, what makes this season different, and better, is the amazing amount of vegan leather from top designers to fast fashion mega stores. Zara has some of the best faux pieces that are trending hard right now.
I have always loved a leather biker jacket and have worn one consistently for almost 20 years (biker jackets need their own post! Look for that next). In fact, I wear mine like most people wear a denim jacket! And then you add in leather pants, which have gained versatility with the many different styles ranging from super skinny to high-rise wide legs, and the options to wear leather expand exponentially. It is even trendy to wear leather on leather but I’m going to advise against that one. It could come off a little too Grace Jones or Olivia Newton John in Grease.
Maybe you’ve worn leather for years, or maybe you’ve never shimmied into a pair of leather pants, or you’re somewhere in between, this Fall is the perfect time to up your cool factor with a little bit of leather, James Dean style.
If you’re thinking about trying leather for the first time, then the classic pairing of black leather pants and a white tee is exactly where you want to be. The top three photos use this combo but have very different “looks”. This visual demonstration proves the versatility and never-ending appeal of this couple.

The Leather Blouse
This blouse is pretty close to perfect. It hits right at your waist with a wide fabric ribbing that hugs you just enough to give you curves but not so much that you get the muffin effect. This top would pair well with a pair of plaid menswear style pants or these and a kitten heel for the office and would transition effortlessy to date night with a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans or these and a sparkly mule, or these and this pair is a great value. Here are some other leather tops that are really good too, this and this.
The High-Waisted Leather Pant
With their high rise and yoke waistline, these faux leather pants have style in spades, and at a third of the price of some designer versions, it should be an easy decision. Wear yours with a filmy blouse like above or half tuck a sweater for the winter months. But since the yoke waistline makes it a bit more dressy, I would stick with a heeled sandal or mule.
The Jean leather Pant
If your budget can handle it, these are the proverbial forever pant. These and this one would check the box nicely too. With a slim leg and traditional jean styling they will transition from day to evening, work to play, effortlessly. Style them with a motorcycle boot, these or these, and an oversized chunky sweater and you have the perfect weekend look for the colder weather ahead. Since it will still be a while before sweater weather here in Dallas, I’m going to pair mine with a white tee, or a vintage looking graphic tee and a minimal sandal. Throw on the must-have accessory of the season, a chunky link chain necklace, and you have a foolproof outfit.
The Wide Leg Leather Pant
Think of these pants as a dressy cool option for the office or evening work events or even a cocktail party. This brown pair is a great option too.Pair it with a black silk blouse or an of-the-moment statement sleeve blouse. I’d keep my shoe game simple with a classic pump or simple heeled sandal.
