Lisa Leake was minding her own business happily eating goldfish and pretzels, when one day an episode on Oprah titled, Where Our Food Comes From hosted by Michael Pollen, changed her life and her families forever. Michael Pollen was explaining the answer to the question what should we eat comes down to seven simple words: eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. Pollen’s manifesto shows us how we can begin to make thoughtful food choices and bring pleasure back to eating. The goal of Lisa’s book is to convince you that cutting out highly processed food is the right thing to do and, more important, that it can be done.
This book is about wellness not about a particular diet to lose weight. The recipes are simple, flavorful and easy to follow! The homemade granola is a favorite of ours-perfect with some fresh cut up berries and almond milk. Simple wellness is a lifestyle change worth making.
